This pretty member of the lily family gets
its
suggestive name from the fact that its long
stalks are leafless or naked. They actually
do have leaves in the spring, before before
any flower blooms. By summer, the leaves are
gone, leaving the ladies naked. They are a
hardy drought-resistant plant, and are often
used as an ornamental, with their pink
colors brightening many gardens. |
