In April and May of 2002, all five of the
visible planets were lined up in the evening sky, putting on
a spectacular show. We would rush up to this picnic area as dusk
fell for an unimpeded view of the western sky with cameras and
telescopes in hand. Armed with star charts, we were able to know
which planet was where, so I could label them on the final print.
What made this even more special, is that these planets will
not share the same sky again until 2058. The orange twilight
glow was not visible with the naked eye. |
