This composition, taken from the wharf at
San Francisco's famous Pier
39, relies on diagonal elements to lead
the viewer's eye to the red-roofed kiosk at the center of the
picture. I liked the mix of the artifical light of the streetlights
with the natural pastel colors of the twilight, and the contrast
of the rough textures of the pilings and the ripples in the water.
I especially liked the subtle patches of color in the water reflected
from the streetlights. Use of a wide-angle lens enhances the
feeling of depth in the image. |
