This popular State Beach is located just to
the south of Jenner, California, where the Russian River meets the coast. A summer
visit to this gorgeous spot is the best way to beat the heat
inland. Sandy beaches, a colony of sun-loving harbor seals, and
expansive views of the rugged Sonoma Coast are some of its main
attractions. The distinctive shape of this rock is actually the
result of a quarry operation, providing gravel for a jetty at
the mouth of the River. In the 1920's this was actually a peninsula,
and yes, there were herds of goats living here. |
