This freshly washed profusion of Azaleas shades
from bright white through richly saturated hues of pink. The
delicate wavy shapes of the petals contrast with the curving
lines of the stamens, which extend past the flower. Overcast
skies provided even lighting on the scene; the lack of highlights
draws the eye directly to the vivid pinks. This beautiful member
of the Heath family prefers moist areas near the coast, and can
be found from California to Oregon. |
