This picture of a stream gently flowing between
two rocks has a very
powerful appeal due to its simplicity: the clear waters showing
some rocks under the surface; the lines of flow; the turbulence
after the last rock; a whole microcosm of river is summed up
in this small section of stream. There is very nice contrast
in both texture and color between the water and rocks. The curving
composition is pleasing, as is the transition of light on the
water. Later, this stream will grow up to be the Tuolomne River. |
