This rainbow formed in the mist of 317 ft
[96m] tall Vernal Falls, is a common sight on sunny days. This view is taken
while ascending the irregularly spaced boulders that make up
the aptly named Mist Trail. Signs advise that you will (not
merely, maybe) get wet. The trail continues above Vernal Falls
to Nevada Falls, and beyond. Here, a shutter speed of about 1/125
of a second does a good job of stopping the motion of the water,
and a polarizing filter increases color saturation in the rock
colors. Just another gorgeous April day in Yosemite! |
