These otherworldly rock formations are called
hoodoos. Found in Bryce
Canyon National Park, in Utah, they are
spectacular products of wind erosion. The vivid range of colors
come from layers of sedimentary rock laid down ages ago. Their
appearance suggests the remains of some ancient abandoned civilization.
This breathtaking view is suspensefully hidden until you take
a short walk to the edge of the rim. On reaching the rim, you
are treated to this complete visual overload! We did not know
what to photograph first! |
