This beautiful stretch of beach with its brilliantly colored wildflowers is located to the north of Bodega Bay, California. Late afternoon sun warms this coastal scene, highlighting the foreground flowers and the cliff, while casting long shadows on the beach. The jagged shapes of the flowers contrast with the rounder forms of the cliff and sand, both in hue and in texture. Use of a small aperture on a wide angle lens keeps everything in the scene in focus,  while emphasizing the flowers in the foreground.
