The muted pastels dominating most of this scene make the intense colors of this persimmon tree almost jump off the picture. There is nice contrast between the delicate color and shape of the tree with the more solid, and neutral tones of the barn. The apples on the tree next to the barn complement and reinforce the color of the persimmon tree, drawing the viewer's eye back to the foreground. The background is completely engulfed by the fog, and the diffuse light enhances the color of the grass.
